Dangerous Luster

Dangerous Luster

A willing participant in your lunar dance
Dashing about, no wiser the fool
Hoping greater intimacy shifts to romance
Yet I stand before you a tool

Like waves in unsettled water
You push and pull with out regard
And like poor bovine to the slaughter,
I follow despite how i’m scarred

A simple smile, a most devious and dreaded plan
Setting in motion tides I never understand
My mind, lost, despite the words of a wiser man
Forlorn, I am lost in thoughts far to grand

I’d ask you release me from my inevitable demise,
But I can hardly muster the resistance to speak
Doomed from the moment I gazed in siren eyes
So, I surrender to a situation hardly unique.
