Breaking of the Bones: II

Breaking of the Bones: II

Each crack echoes into my aging bone
Leaving behind dark remnants of pain
A lasting impression ruthlessly grown
My once strong body remembered in vain

Each splinter split and aimlessly thrown
Forcing regret into these aching bones
What remains is hardly my own
And so my seeping darkness is sewn

Each break of my shrinking form
A lasting distractions from what I’ve known
Pouring my hate into the perfect storm
Until my life is wholly overthrown

Each dot of decaying dust
Leaving nothing of what I trust
Before my remains can readjust
All that’s left shall combust

Ashes to ashes, dust to dust
How I started, end I must.
